With Aston Villa already making a few minor moves in the January transfer market as new head coach Steven Gerrard starts tweaking the squad to his liking, it looks like the next one out for some experience will be highly rated Academy graduate Aaron Ramsey.

The 18-year-old midfielder featured once under former gaffer Dean Smith in the 2021/22 season, playing against Barrow in our good and youthful 6-0 victory in the EFL Cup and he also featured for our Under 21 side in their short run in the EFL Trophy, scoring in our 4-2 victory over MK Dons.

Ramsey has also seen good progression in his England youth career, stepping up from the Under 18’s to the Under 19 set up and he’s also found himself on the bench for the Under 21’s, and it appears he’ll now get a really good run of games in the second half of the campaign as Gloucestershire Live have reported that Cheltenham Town have struck a deal with us, to take him for the remainder of the campaign.

It’s said that he will soon be confirmed as their fourth signing of the window and there’s a good expectation he’ll make his debut this Saturday when they face Charlton Athletic in League One action.

It should be a great spell for him, and we’re striking up quite the relationship with Cheltenham now as Ramsey will become one of many youngsters to head in their direction. From memory, most recently it was released youngster Alfie Taylor, and then Indiana Vassilev on loan before him.
