Vital Villa asked for your predictions for today’s must win game against Watford and 83% of Villans are in confident mood saying the fightback will begin today and we’ll win.

11% predicted a loss and just 6% a draw despite our draw specialist tag this season.

Aston Villa (from): Sorensen, Taylor, Bardsley, Hughes, Mellberg, Cahill, Ridgewell, Bouma, Samuel, Agbonlahor, McCann, Davis, Osbourne, Barry, Angel, Baros, Hendrie, Angel.

Watford (from): Foster, Lee, Mariappa, Mackay, DeMerit, Stewart, Doyley, Powell, Shittu, Smith, Bangura, Mahon, McNamee, Francis, Williamson, Jarrett, Young? Bouazza, Henderson, Priskin, Hoskins, Ashikodi.

According to The Sun Ashley Young won’t play for Watford today as he considers a transfer to Villa Park.

They say Young, who turned down West Ham flat this week, is ‘in two minds about Villa’ adding that Spurs are still interested and he would prefer a move to White Hart Lane.

Martin O’Neill said: “I was very impressed with the lad when I met him but the irony is that we play Watford this weekend and that has complicated things. This is not a whim. I have seen Watford loads of times this season and when they see me coming they say ‘oh no, not again.’ I think we were the first people to bid and I hope we can do the deal. People might talk about the money but they said Cristiano Ronaldo was over-priced when he arrived at Manchester United for £12m and now he is worth quadruple that.’

Adding “You have to look at the value over the next four or five years. He has the ability to play for England. We are striving to improve our squad and I believe he can improve it. I would expect to know what is happening after the end of the game. I would much say everything was sorted but it’s happened so quickly and it might not materialise.”

Be interesting to see if Phil Bardsley makes his debut today at the expense of Aaron Hughes.
