Fellow Villains,

Thanks for the emails over the weekend. This email address is currently my work one but will be hopefully be changing in the near future. A few months back I was sat talking to friends about our teams we support and as always I got slated about how bad Villa are and that we haven’t a big following etc etc. So I thought to myself why not try to get a supporters club up and running, put the feelers out and see how many people actually do follow the Villa from round this way.

Initially, I was just going to keep it in Swindon but after advice from Villa they stated it would be better covering the whole of Wiltshire as that way membership can be bigger. The whole purpose of this is meet up with fellow Villains say maybe once a month in a certain venue in Swindon to discuss all things Villa and to arrange travel to games both home and away and generally have a fun social evening. I have been in contact with the Swindon Spurs Supporters Club and they have given all the info I need to get this up and running properly, but for it to increase I would need help from roughly 3-4 members on a committee to help with the financial side of things and organisation. Benefits of joining a supporters club include discounted match tickets and clubshop discounts as well a lounge area at Villa Park to enjoy a drink and meal before the game as well as the chance to get to meet the players and Mr O’Leary, although meeting him is up to you as I’d rather not ! ;-).

Judging by the state we are in at the moment I would like to meet Mr Ellis and exchange some words but the chances of that are slim to none. Anyway, enough of my moaning. I will also be arranging a patronage of the club. I am hoping to get either Phil King (for anyone who remembers that night against Inter Milan) or Mark Draper, both if I’m lucky !

I have spoken to Barnes’ Coaches and they are willing to do us a coach to VP, but like I said I need membership to increase and things to be properly organised for this to happen. I look forward to meeting up with you all soon. Please inform any friends you have who follow the Villa to spread the word. After-all, the more on the coach the cheaper it is 😉

But I must stress I cannot carry this all on my own. I will be looking for people to help me run the club as it is quite a job in itself but also rewarding. I will be looking to increase the membership so we are ready to go for next season (hopefully avoiding relegation !). As we grow I will set-up a website with information about ourselves and for new members.

If you wish to join me on a discussion website and for really in depth information then why not join me here at Vital Villa.

I will be in touch soon. Should you wish to contact me then you can send me a private message via this site (crosswesleyanchapel) or email editor@astonvilla.vitalfootball.co.uk and JF will pass on the communication.

Once again thanks ever so much for your response. The earlier the response the sooner we will get started
