Bellamy Confusion

Newcastle have denied agreeing a combined fee with Aston Villa to sell striker Craig Bellamy and defender Aaron Hughes.

Ellis reportedly said today, apart from wibble wibble, that Freddy Shepherd had ‘accepted our cash offer for both players’.

However a Newcastle statement says no such fee has been agreed: ‘despite reports to the contrary, Newcastle United have not agreed any fees with Aston Villa over the sale of Craig Bellamy and Aaron Hughes…..News broke saying the pair were close to completing a move to Villa Park, but Newcastle confirm this report is incorrect and say no fees have been agreed with any club’.

Oh good, another smooth transfer deal in the bag!
