Tyrone Mings drew praise from some supporters after Aston Villa drew 1-1 with Stoke City, having delivered another solid performance at the back on Saturday afternoon. The 25-year-old has been in fine form since joining on loan from Bournemouth and impressed his fans enough to receive adulation on social media.
Mings and Hause have been great signings, shame about Carroll. I really hope we can get Kodija, Tammy and Adomah firing and then get Mcginn and Grealish back in. Tuanzebe RB if he is returning soon. Need some confidence in the team going into nxt season #avfc #vtid

If there is any chance of Tyrone Mings dropping into the Championship next season we should be all over it. Best player on the pitch by a mile today. #scfc #avfc #afcb

Against Stoke, Mings completed nine of 14 long passes attempted, made a total of 72 passes with an overall accurate rate of 88%, while making one tackle and two interceptions. The centre-back has been a rock since his arrival but doesn’t have a buying option attached to his loan contract.
It hasn’t stopped fans wanting to sign him this summer, but Villa may have competition. Mings had a lot of suitors before choosing to join the Midlands outfit last month, so the chances of Villa tying him down to a permanent deal are slim.
He’s made a big impression after only five games, but Villa have to end their winless run as soon as possible to stand a chance of finishing in the Championship playoffs. They next face Derby County on March 2 and have gone five games without a win.
