Boyd Back On Bruce’s Radar?

It’s being reported today that Burnley midfielder George Boyd could be back on manager Steve Bruce’s wishlist this summer.

The Birmingham Mail reported this morning that having tried to land the now 31 year old back in the January window – with Boyd deciding to remain at Burnley – with the player soon to be out of contract given he rejected a one year offer a short time ago, Bruce now return to snare him on a free agent.

With the player set to leave Turf Moor when his current deal now expires next month, it’s suggested that Boyd is looking for a three year deal for a bit more security as he comes towards the end of his age, but whether or not we’d give that kind of length of a deal is questionable.

Derby County are also linked with the player with speculation in their direction seems to be slowing.

The Scottish international certainly carries experience with well over 500 career games to his name, but whether he’s what we need – I don’t know enough about him.
