It’s that time of the month again when a bunch of television executives sit down and see how much havoc they can cause for football fans around the country as they arbitrarily move matches around for the armchair supporter.
Earlier this afternoon Aston Villa confirmed that fans now need to factor in two more fixture changes in 2018/19 and the season hasn’t even begun yet. At least this time around the dates of both games don’t change so the travelling faithful aren’t as inconvenienced as usual.
Our game against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park continues to take place on Saturday, September 15 but having been picked by Sky Sports, the game will now kick-off at 5.30pm instead of the originally scheduled 3pm.
The away trip to Carrow Road to face Norwich City also continues to take place on Tuesday, October 23 and the kick-off time does not change – 7.45pm – this match will also now be screened.
There’s a third change but no reason has yet been given for this one.
Our trip to Ashton Gate to face Bristol City moved from Saturday, September 29 and will now take place at 7.45pm on Friday, September 28. This has not been selected for screening.

Does this mean the game against Sheffield Wednesday on 22/09/18 at 3pm will not be changed? Planning on travel down from Scotland that day so hopefully remain same date.

Norwich away on a Tuesday eve, then a 4hr drive back to B6. Where’s the push back from the club on matters like this?
