More moans, more Villa depression and sadly all pretty much bang on:

Didn`t turn up, outplayed, let the opposition have the ball and control the midfield, barely a shot on target and didn`t want to get dirty in the peeing down rain – January 2017.

What`s changed a year on?

It`s shocking the state we`re in. Week after week I watch unknown names run rings around our ageing stars. Watching the likes of Chester and Taylor who must`ve played well over 50 games together for club and country can barely pass a ball to each other.

Johnstone hit Hogan on every goal kick and looked to be getting a little wound up to me.

Onomah did nothing apart from leaping like a salmon in the first half, the bloke is a disgrace.

Elphick could`ve seen red from where I was at one point.

Jedinak was sloppy and whelan was anonymous. I`ve struggled to make whelan out for us, however I`ve come to the realisation we need a footballers in that midfield not a destroyer. If we were a mid table team I`d accept a destroyer but we need someone who can contribute to the forward play not play it backwards.

Hogan is going to rightly so jack it in for us, he looks big and is certainly unfit. When he came short we played it long, when he went long we played it short.

Truly shocking performance again, I was fully expecting it before the game however the reality has left me a bit bitter to be honest.

Had to go out last night and where we went had no wi-fi or signal at all , so wasn’t able to find the result out until about 10 o’clock. Hugely disappointing , but what was worse was that I kind of knew how we played before I read anything on here. Didn’t have to be Pep to know how the game would pan out based on the last 3 encounters against Brentford . If we play against anyone who moves the ball quickly then we will struggle , same for going forward , I can’t beleive the number of times Snodgrass slows the game down completely , cut’s inside and loses the ball.

Like a lot of others I like Bruce and think he has done a decent job steadying the ship and giving us a degree of stability , but we need to go up this season……..

You can’t go into games hoping this is the game when things will change and the penny has finally dropped with Steve Bruce because he is incapable of changing his ways and so it will always be with him.

That result and poor performance was nothing new and only those with blind faith would have thought we would get something out of the game while most of us knew that we would be played off the park and so it transpired.

He looked a beaten man last night (just like his team) as he spouted the usual after match rhetoric full of the usual empty promises and quite frankly enough is enough.

It is shocking how little has changed in 12 months.

Juan Pablo Angel

That’s the key for me.

We have been hanging around the top 6 for a bit. But basically, we win a few, we draw a few, we lose a few.

The product on pitch is totally inconsistent and excruciating to watch, for the most part. Our relative success has been more down to how poor everyone else is around the League, rather than how well, or improved’, we have been playing.

Bruce deserves credit for steadying the ship, although with hindsight, can anyone seriously say di Matteo wouldn’t have got there in the end? Almost everyone was secretly hoping for/expecting an immediate return, and when things were seemingly going nowhere after 11 games, the panic button was pressed. SB was available and willing. Whether he was able remained to be seen.

Well, 14 months on, it’s not looking too convincing, is it? Although we are no longer losing games we would have last season, we are failing to win games we should this. In maybe two or three matches have we looked good this season so far. We are even struggling to win ‘ugly’.

There is a paucity of replacements out there, and this is probably why Bruce will hang around a bit longer. Luckily, we are unable to spend much (if anything) this coming window. I certainly would not trust SB with another penny.

For the umpteenth time, what goes on at Bodymoor Heath?

Can`t pass
Can`t press
Can`t control
Can`t shoot
Can`t head
Can`t attack
Can`t defend
