Champions League? To be or not to be?

Now, it’s been a while since I last posted anything (I’ve actually had to do work whilst in the office, I know, shock!) but there does seem to be a somewhat pessimistic mood about (a small minority of) Villa fans at the moment.

Yes I know, we’ve had a wobble over the past few games but other top teams go through that as well. Look at Arsenal, if Villa had there injury worries then a dip in form would come as well, only thing is Arsenal have the squad to compete in the premier league and we don’t.

Now, MON says he will put it right in the summer (please god) about the size of the squad, and from what I have seen, the emergence of some talented youngster, Albrighton, the Fonze, Bannan so the futures bright. Quality, not quantity, well, a little of both would do nicely please Mr O’Neill.

Well, why not 3rd? If we get a result at Liverpool and they lose to United then wouldn’t we go within 3 points of them? Lets not forget that Arsenal have to play Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea in the last 5 games of the season. So its not all doom and gloom, we’ve come a long way since MON has taken over, well since Mr Lerner has been at the club.

Although he didn’t do much, lets not forget Deadly Doug for bringing in MON first of all as his last job for the club (something I guess he will harp on about for many years) and keeping the club stable for so many mid table years.

So hats off to the Villa for challenging, it’s far more exciting than a relegation battle aye? Or mid table obscurity. It could go down to the wire with a result against Newcastle at home, who knows? But at least we’re there and there abouts.

Fourth or fifth would do me, hopefully next season, they will talk about the big 5, not four to include the Villa.

So, hold onto your butts, we gotta long way to go baby!!!
