With very little to shout about following Saturday’s defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, Aston Villa fans will take any small crumb of comfort they can from what is already turning into a hugely disappointing season under manager Steve Bruce and a seeming lack of tactical knowledge that makes Donald Trump look like he might have an IQ of at least 25.
The cleat highlight from the game at the weekend was John McGinn’s barnstormer of a volley as he drew us level in the game, for at least a period of time.
Social media went crackers, as did the Villa Park faithful and he’s taken plenty of headlines for himself with the effort and featured heavily on Sky Sports for his first goal in English football on Saturday evening.

There were plenty more but that proves the point admirably. Our Goal of the Season has already been decided as I can’t see that being topped and I’m yet to see better in the Championship itself in my humble so far.
