Another day and it’s another Aston Villa raid on West Bromwich Albion’s Academy setup as we’ve now nicked Tim Iroegbunam from them and brought him into Bodymoor Heath.
The club has today announced the signature of Tim Iroegbunam from West Brom. The highly rated midfielder won the Academy Player Of The Year award for West Brom last term and featured against Villa in the FA Youth Cup semi final. Welcome aboard Tim! #AVFC pic.twitter.com/2OqCsayKzG

The talented 18-year-old midfielder is another who is well known to Academy manager Mark Harrison from his time with them, as Iroegbunham joined them at Under 8 level, working his way up through the levels and he has been invited into England age group training camps owing to his potential.
Speaking to the Official Site as we announced his capture, Harrison explained his qualities.
“Tim is an athletic midfielder who is technically very good. He has the ability to play as a holding midfielder or a box-to-box midfielder, who can contribute in both penalty areas. Tim has a lot of potential and we look forward to seeing him develop over the next few years.”

Given the speculation the last few weeks about our interest in the lad, clearly we’ve put the work in behind the scenes here to attract him over and hopefully that means that in a few years time he could well become quite a regular name amongst fans as he continues his development with what is shaping up to be a very promising crop of youngsters.
Welcome to the club Tim.
Every lunch break I find out we have signed another one of your lads @adam_dyche2
