Great news… Really really GREAT news this.
The Official Site have confirmed that Andreas Weimann has signed a new deal which will keep him at the club until 2016.
Weimann said: ‘I’m really happy that I’ve signed. I love the Club and it’s been brilliant for me, for I have a feeling of being at home here at Aston Villa.”
Weimann joined the Academy in 2006 and he says he looks forward to being a big part in the team development having been surprised at the amount of time he got on the pitch last season.
Nice bit here: ‘I feel like I owe the manager and the Club because the manager backed me last season after he came in and I have always felt comfortable and really supported at the Club. The supporters, too, have been brilliant with me and they’ve really taken to me which I’m delighted about. It means everything to know you have support like that. The whole team feels the same way.”

Paul Lambert is also quoted in the article saying:
‘He has drive and a hunger to succeed and that’s vital. That’s what we’re looking for here at Villa. He got a sustained run at it last season and he showed the quality that marks him out as a natural finisher. Delighted by this, I`d feared he might be poached as he`d only got a year left on his contract and I think he is one of our most exciting players to watch. Happy days. Now lets hope the future of Benteke can be sorted and onwards we go!
