Midfielder Henry Cowans has today extended his loan spell out with Stevenage until the end of the current campaign, but striker Harry McKirdy has returned with injury.

Cowans headed out to the Lamex Stadium in August and in his time with them he’s made a total of 18 appearances – 14 starting appearances for the 21 year old in League Two – and his last appearance came on January 7 in their three one victory over Newport County.

His spell at the club will now run until the end of the current 2016/17 campaign.

McKirdy’s five month spell at Stevenage comes to an end with the 19 year old unfortunately picking up an injury and not featuring since their two one loss to Cambridge United on Boxing Day.

There’s no update on the severity of his injury, but he scored his first senior goal in their EFL Trophy clash against Brighton’s Under 23 side and then scored a solo effort to register his maiden Football League goal in their victory over Mansfield Town.

13 appearances in total with seven being from the start.
