Speaking on the official site Curtis Davies has said that games like Arsenal away are why any player wants to be in the Premiership, and he’s no different.

Explaining that every player wants to find themselves up against the very best in the league to test themselves.

‘When I came to Villa, games like Arsenal away were what really excited me about coming back in to the Premier League.

‘You want to test yourself against the best players and play in the big stadiums. This is the first time I’ve been to the Emirates and it’s going to be a big occasion.

‘We’ve got to go there and do a job and hopefully we can take something from the game, because we are in a confident mood.’

Villa are in a very confident mood and, if we can play to our best and not just for a single half, there is a very good chance of an upset, but like normal it all comes down to whether we approach the game properly and whether we can be consistent.

It’s been said many times before in the lead up to this game, but if we can replicate our second half performance level from the match earlier in the season, we have every chance of coming away with a remarkable result.

‘People sometimes say against Arsenal: ‘Let them have the ball and then they’ll let you have the ball’. But I don’t think so. You have to work hard for anything you get against them.

‘If they’ve got the ball they know what they’re doing with it and you have to be alert for 90 minutes. They’re also one of the fittest teams in the league – there’s no way they could play so many games each season without being fit.

‘We know the size of the task, but our away form has been good. Bar Fulham we’ve done very well away from home and we take confidence from that.

‘It’s a big task, but we’ve got to go into the game fancying our chances and then take whatever we get tomorrow into that battle for a European place.’

One thing you can be sure of is that MON won’t be telling them to go out and try for a draw. He’ll want all 3 points and he’ll have them up for it. We just need to see if they are up for it enough!
