The Express & Star who to be fair, I think have blown any credibility with their Mick McCarthy to Villa link, have a ‘Villa source` who explains time frames for the manager hunt.
The Villa source told them:
“The club is getting on with the process of finding a new manager and this process has been very focused from the outset. The timeframe is not as important as getting the best man to be the manager. The club feels well positioned right now with a number- of candidates under consideration. We are conducting our own process independently of what anyone else may be doing.”
Ok… fair enough in my opinion! Some are saying it is now a circus but didn`t Chelsea take longer last year to get their manager and then sacked him quicker? I can answer that one … yes, yes they did! And again they don`t have a manager now, no one knows if Di Matteo is being kept on or not yet.
Liverpool are in the same boat, managerless and according to the press being turned down by a few approaches.
Slowly slowly catchy monkey!? So desperate for this one to be right, I`ll happily wait. I don`t want to wait and then have another shock though, which is maybe why Villa fans seem so nervous and some so angry at the moment?!
Ok, my source … ha, I have them as well… yippee for me… was confident that things are being done right and it won`t be that long until we get the right man. People have been talked to or sounded out and progress is being made. Talk that Ole is the only one that we`ve talked to is utter pants. Ok, I might have paraphrased there, no talk of pants came up.
Could it be that they are waiting to see if Roberto Di Matteo is going to be taken on by Chelsea or not? Or waiting for Martinez? I’d rather the right man than the quickest available!
