Eirik Bakke says he ‘likes it at Villa’ and wants to find out where his long term future lies.

The giant midfielder is currently on loan until January at Aston Villa from Leeds United. Rumours have circulated that Leeds may be interested in taking Eric Jumper Jumper in a swap deal for Bakke.

Bakke said: ‘I like it at Villa – it’s a good club with good people – but we’ll see what’s going to happen in January. I need to know what’s happening for my long-term future as well. I’d be happy for it to be here, but it’s something myself, Villa and Leeds have to discuss.

He also indicates he would only want the move if he is going to feature in the team. ‘It depends on whether I’m playing or not, because I need to be playing week in, week out to get to the level I was before. But I’m sure I’ll get my games before the end of the season. This is going to be a busy month for the players and the club.’

His chances have been severely limited so far, partly due to the fact he came to Villa carrying an injury.
