Aston Villa’s Under 18 charges fired their way into the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup for this season with a penalty victory over Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday evening.

Travelling to Ewood Park for the fourth round tie, both sides battled to a scoreless draw at the end of regulation time, and the extra time period couldn’t see either side give themselves the advantage either so it was to the dreaded penalty kick decider.

Both sides had a 100% conversion record as the penalties progressed, but Joel Steer for the hosts fired over in their final attempt to see us through to the fifth round stage of the competition once more and we took the seven six penalty victory.

The next round sees us face Broxbourne Borough in the final 16 who overcame Yeovil one nil in their tie.
