Aston Villa have a few players out on loan this season, so here’s the next update of the 2016/17 campaign.

With the closure of the January transfer window a couple of months back – here’s the latest state of play with our players elsewhere.

Niall Mason made the move to Doncaster Rovers in early August on a deal that expired in early January. That deal was extended in January until the end of the current campaign.

He made his Football League debut in their game against Accrington Stanley on the opening day of the season, and so far he’s notched up 33 starting appearances with a further showing from the substitutes bench. He’s also helped himself to five yellow cards.

Henry Cowans was the next youngster to head out on loan this summer, and he headed to the Lamex Stadium for a spell with Stevenage until January 7. That deal was also extended until the end of the current campaign.

The now 21 year old made his senior debut in his first loan spell out in their EFL Trophy game against Leyton Orient. To date he has 15 starting appearances with seven showings from the substitutes bench. He has four yellow cards to his name.

Kevin Toner has was also out on loan, to near neighbours Walsall following his spell with Kidderminster Harriers last year. On stats I can find he made six starting appearances for the Aggborough side last season, and heading out late on in August he has made his starting debut for Walsall in their game against Bury. He made 20 starting appearances, picking up two yellow cards.

Having come back to us in January, on deadline day he signed a new loan deal for the remainder of the year out with Bradford City – he’s yet to debut.

In loan news for seniors which are full campaign loans, Jordan Veretout’s trip to St-Etienne has seen him make 32 starting appearances, with two substitute showings in Ligue 1 so far with a return of four goals.

Carlos Sanchez at Fiorentina has made 23 starts, with eleven substitute showings also – scoring once.

Whilst Carles Gil has eleven starting appearances for Deportivo, with five substitute appearances based on details I can find.

Heading out on fresh deals this month were Aly Cissokho who has now debuted for Olympiakos – he’s obviously with them until the end of the season now. In total he has six starting appearances to his name.

Pierluigi Gollini has now made his debut following his loan out to Atalanta. He has one starting appearance to his name.

Aaron Tshibola headed out to Nottingham Forest in January and he’s now made two starting appearances for the fellow Championship side, with one substitute showing.

Joining him at Forest was Ross McCormack and he has three starting appearances to his name, with four substitute showings, and a return of one goal.

With the transfer window shutting, deals to National League sides were still capable of being completed and Riccardo Calder following his January return from Doncaster Rovers – nine starts, eleven substitute showings and one goal – made the move to Lincoln City in early March. He’s yet to debut for them on the details I’m looking at.

And that’s your lot unless I’ve forgot somebody again.
