Gabby Agbonlahor is fit and raring to go again, and he’s determined to not let his injury setback affect his future England career.

After making an impressive return against Reading, Gabby has set his sights on working his way into Fabio Capello’s plans again, hopefully in time for next months friendly match against France.

Speaking on the official site, our high flying youngster said:

‘It’s brilliant to make the step up. Everybody has been saying things about me all season, but I’ve just tried to concentrate on playing my game.

‘I want to keep improving and I’ve worked hard to get to this point. The gaffer’s been great and never stopped encouraging me.

‘I feel I’m a much better player this season and I’ve learned a lot and I’m delighted I made the squad.

‘I just hope I stay in it next time because the thought of joining up with a senior England squad is tremendous honour. But I won’t be taking that for granted.’

Gabby has also ruled out representing another nation in order to speed up his international career.

‘It was always England for me. I was born here, I’m a local boy, I always supported them as a kid, I had the shirt.’
