Good Paul McGrath almighty, just what is going on?

Team news v Sheffield Wednesday FC

Jack Grealish is still in ‘serious doubt` for this weekends match. The Aston Villa facebook page says that QPR is a more likely game for him to return.

Albert Adomah, the same, a serious doubt v the Owls and a possible QPR return.

And ..

yes, it goes on folks.

Lewis Grabban, who I think made a great impact Tuesday night v Preston North End when he came on, is a doubt with a sore groin. He`s due to be assessed today.

Another newbie, Axel Tuanzebe is out this weekend, he`s picked up a hamstring injury. He did look like he`d totally faded at the end of the Tuesday night match, that will explain why. I thought it strange for a young, fit lad to tire, evidently it was an injury.

And .. yes, again, this list continues… Keinan Davis is a doubt, he has an ankle injury. He`ll be assessed today.

The one ray of light (!) is that Robert Snodgrass is over his sickness so will be in line for a return.

The Facebook page also confirms that O`Hare will be in contention.

And of course, Jonathan Kodjia, although Jonathan Kodjia is back in light training he is still nowhere near. And Andre Green is also out with a hamstring injury.

This folks, is what I believe you call a bit of a pickle!

  • I’d love to see the stats on which clubs have had the most players out injured the longest over the past 5-10 seasons. I’d even stop working just to read it, it would be that entralling. I’m pretty sure we’d be high on the list. It always seemed it was us

  • Classic Villa. A great run to get where we are and they drop like flies. Like ric says, I’d love to see other clubs stats, especially this season with Cardiff and Wolves. It’s like every other month we have an injury crisis.
