Young striker Rushian Hepburn-Murphy made his return from injury in the U23 clash against against Swansea City earlier in the week and now he’s turning his eyes to towards a real push for Premier League promotion next campaign.

With a mixed campaign for the youngster, a contract extension but plenty of time out on the sidelines with injury, he got all 90 minutes under his belt in Monday’s clash and he’s now hoping to get himself into the first team fold before the end of the year so he can more than play his part next term in trying to fire us to the top of the table.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with club media following the two nil loss, he explained.

‘This club has been in the top-flight for so many years and I want to help it get back there. I want to play my part in the team. First, in the remaining weeks of this season, I want to get my fitness back up to where it needs to be. And it would be great to get back on that first team bench – and then get some minutes out there on the pitch.’

Hepburn-Murphy went on to say.

‘It`s about getting ready for the kick-off next season. I really want to make an impact and help the club get back to where it belongs. My future is sorted now. I was delighted to sign the new deal. This is my boyhood club. I was happy it got sorted – now I want to kick on.’

With a Play Off push realistically now over, it’s a good time to introduce youngsters for a touch more experience now with the pressure off and you would imagine Hepburn-Murphy will more than figure in that to bring him in line with the potential people believe him to have.

If he can end this year on a high it should more than set him up as an option for next term.
