The very worth Steve Todd, lifelong Aston Villa fanatic, is at it again.

You might recall he went to watch England play cricket in India in 2016 and took a load of Villa shirts over to distribute to the street kids over there.

Help The Mumbai Street Kids With Claret & Blue

He said back then, “My name is Steve Todd, I am a lifelong Villa fan, season ticket holder and currently Chairman of the Kent Lions.” Then went on to explain he was travelling to India and needed fellow Villa fans help.

This time around, he went to see England play in Sri Lanka and did the same.

Steve explains:

“I am sending a parcel over in two weeks with more shirts and Villa stuff. If anyone has any spare kids shirts (age 3-11) or any other stuff they are willing to donate, or if anyone can help towards postage costs please message me.”

I asked Steve for a few more details and he duly obliged:

“We the idea followed on from something similar I did in Mumbai a couple of years ago (which you kindly helped me with ). I had some donated shirts left over from that trip so when me and my good lady decided to go to Sri Lanka for the cricket this year it made sense to give some more out. In Mumbai it was random street kids we gave them to, but in Kandy I was lucky enough to have a random conversation with someone who pointed me in the right direction of the orphanage. The heartbreaking part (and the video doesn’t really do justice to it) was we didn’t take enough shirts and it was mainly younger ones that missed out. I was nearly in tears. So I’m sending more out!!!

My motivation is simple everyone in the world should be encouraged to support Aston Villa Football Club lol (a bit like a worldwide Duke of Edinburgh scheme for character building!!! Any donation would be appreciated shirts caps shorts, anything Villa really (not much need for woolly hats out there though!!) The ages are 3-12 years old”

Steve can be contacted initially by email stevetodd1982@gmail.com

So there you go Villans, something worthy to join in with.

I’ll get this to the right people at the club, see if Under Armour have anything left and Vital Villa I am sure can donate the postage costs to Steve.
