Not Manchester United you understand, voiceoftheholte simply wishes we could all unite behind the club to help push us up the table.

This article is not about having a go at supporters, but I think it is important to highlight how the game changes from one week to the next.

Below is a section of comments posted after the Sunderland game.

Personally I think they were all well off the mark but can understand the frustration that led to them. However there have been comments that simply abuse our manager.

There have been comments that say they want us to get beat by the Blues and Sheffield United to hasten Houlliers departure.

Any Villa ‘supporter’ wanting us to lose to Blues should in my opinion be banned from Villa Park for life.

We are supporters. Our job in the grand scheme of things is to support. We do not choose the manager, the team or what washing powder the kit man uses.

As a club we perform better when the fans turn up in great numbers and provide superb vocal backing. We perform worse when there are empty seats, every misplaced pass is greeted with a groan and the players feel they haven’t got the backing of the fans.

The Man City away game was the worst in a while and a bit of a watershed. Since then we have drawn at Chelski and Small Heath, have beat Sheffield United and Man City and lost to Sunderland. And it could be argued that we played well enough to gain victories at Chelski and Small Heath and that we wouldn’t have lost the Sunderland game if Heskey hadn’t had a moment of madness.

Houllier has made mistakes. Several.

And some fans will take a long tome to forget them. But he is trying to overhaul the mess left to us by MON and an injury crisis that at times left us short of 11 players.

He has introduced the kids and got them all to sign new contracts. He has attracted a natural goalscorer to the club. He has got rid of Sidwell who was out of contract at the end of the season. He has moved Carew off the wage bill and is slowly making his mark on the set up.

He also seems to have identified a right back who perfectly compliments Albrighton.

It may all go pear shaped yet. But I don’t think so.

Regardless of the results against Manure and Wigan, I still think that we are moving forward.

Is it too much to ask for us all to stick together and not make the type of comments posted below??

Agree 100 % but they wont sack him infact they ate expecting a bad jan but to improve in feb, what a ******** joke. Im not a big sam fan but i think he could save us, oh looks like Collins is off, this ***** manager should be sacked now but fear this aint gonna happen look at Faulkners comments.

Same here…Never liked Big Sam much but I believe he has the required qualities to keep us up. I’m not saying we’d win anything under him….but I think we would survive…I dont know…but I know one thing…we are going down.

Lerner / Krulak…and all the other bigwigs at Villa have their heads buried in the sand…wake up guys…we are the worst team in the premiership on current form….and bigger names than us have fallen in the past. Get a grip for all our sakes.

Get him out NOW!!! ffs. Come on Mr Lerner lets see how much of a die hard fan you really are. Admit that you & your board were wrong & send him on his way, then get Martin Jol on the phone. Otherwise we will be turning on you aswell.

So a Championship Full Back on loan then…..that will keep us up! We are going nowhere other than down with this idiot at the helm, we’ll buy nobody decent in this transfer window and limp through to the end of the season before getting relegated. I never liked this guy and I never will and I’m going to spend my season ticket money on something more worthwhile next year as I’m bloody fed up with all this. I hope we get knocked out of the cup on Saturday and done by the Blues, whatever it takes for Randy to kick this moron out of Villa Park.
