Fresh from doing the loan update the other day for Aston Villa’s departed players and noticing that Mitch Clark has seemingly hit the ground running with Port Vale, whilst some will no doubt overreact to that news, the clear lack of options in defence in our first team can’t be ignored.
If Clark’s games so far at League Two level are anything to go off, whilst he’s not the answer yet given the pressure with us, if he can continue his showings so far he could well become a choice come the January window.
The 19-year-old moved on for his first proper taste of senior football in League Two with the Valiants, although he did debut for us last season in the EFL Cup victory over Wigan Athletic and he’s already got four games under his belt with the most recent showing coming at the beginning of this month against Newport County.
Vale have lost the last three matches on the spin but taking a gander through social media, their fans seem thoroughly happy with him so far.
Should pay vale a visit Ian, more than welcome. And got too add mitchell clark been superb for us.

Mitchell Clark has had another good performance, great couple of attacking runs he made in the second half, definitely the makings of a great player. #pvfc #avfc

He played right back first half then switched to left back second half, played well both sides

After the Villa result today he’ll be back there before we know it

Long may it continue for the lad as he’ll only get better with games and return more of a polished player from his experiences with them.
