A number of noticeable ommisions from tonight’s game against SC Paderborn.
Gabby Agbonlahor missed the game with a knock, Marc Albrighton was also missing through illess, and Aleksandar Tonov has suffered a thigh strain following his debut against SV Rodinghausen.
Jores Okore is now expected to be out for up to a fortnight following his hamstring injury, but he’s going to remain with the squad purely for team bonding reasons.
Speaking to the Birmingham Mail Paul Lambert explained that those players missed the game through injury, and even those that could’ve played he didn’t see the point in risking them at this stage as we have a good few weeks to go and it’s better they all recover properly.
‘Hopefully, two of them anyway, they’ll be back pretty quickly. Sunday is still too early, but hopefully we’ll get them back. The young lads came in and coped well, it’s good news, there are a lot of positive things there. We had young Josh Webb coming over with Burkie, and Samir is here too. It’s good for them.’
