de Laet, Lansbury, Steer, O’Hare.

Speaking to the BBC’s cameras a short time after match day referee Tony Harrington blew the final whistle, Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce explained.

‘Albert has worked hard and got his reward from working on the left. He looks so comfortable coming in on his right foot and running across the line. He is a big threat and he has now scored 11 goals (in all competitions), which is a wonderful return and long may it continue. There is no reason why he cannot set his sights to go and get another 10 in this part of the season.’

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy in his comparitive interview explained.

‘I thought we the best team before the goal. Had we scored the first goal the place would have been very quiet. It was actually until the opening goal. But Villa are efficient, particularly when they get ahead. They make it very difficult to play against. We need to be more ruthless but when you get the disappointments on the pitch it is hard to contend with.’
