With the vast majority of eyes on off the pitch issues at Aston Villa at the moment given all the financial shenanigans taking place in the Boardroom and with our cash flow, our pre-season plans continue apace with the announcement of another friendly warm-up game.

With a number of games already announced for our Championship 2018/19 build up, West Ham United become the latest side that we will face this summer.

The game has been set for a 7.45pm kick-off slot on Wednesday, July 25 and it will take place at Walsall’s Banks’s Stadium owing to our ongoing pitch work at Villa Park. Ticket details will be announced in due course.

West Ham join Telford United, Kidderminster Harriers, Walsall, Burton Albion and Dynamo Dresden on our schedule but the big question for fans at the moment is who will be our manager when the players return to training given ongoing speculation about the future of Steve Bruce.

Our full schedule so far:

Telford United – Saturday 14th July
New Bucks Head – 3pm – Split Team

Kidderminster Harriers – Saturday 14th July
Aggborough Stadium – 3pm – Split Team

Walsall – Tuesday 17th July
Banks’s Stadium – 7.45pm

Burton Albion – Saturday 21st July
Pirelli Stadium – 3pm

West Ham United – Wednesday 25th July
Banks’s Stadium – 7.45pm

Dynamo Dresden – Saturday 28th July
Stadion Dresden – 2pm (local time)

Not exactly a money spinner as our technical home friendly of the summer, but maybe a greater prize could be at stake – would the winner get to keep Robert Snodgrass?
