With Aston Villa duo John McGinn and Jack Grealish taking their opportunity to shine as we won promotion from the Championship in 2018/19, both have taken quite well to the Premier League so far and are definitely showing the wider world what they are capable of.

With Jack and his England talk, and McGinn already being touted to Manchester United by mouthpieces in the press, head coach Dean Smith has long stuck to the line that he doesn’t care about interest in our players, he’s looking to build the group, not cash in.

With the November international break coming to a close, Smith again addressed the speculation linking a few with potential moves away and he told Sky Sports that absolutely nothing had changed and he didn’t doubt for a second that ownership duo Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens would be intent on keeping our best players with us to fulfil their own ambitions.

“There’s been a lot of speculation about a lot of our players. But we’ve two owners who want to build a football club, challenging in the top half of the table, and top six in a few years’ time. To do that you have to keep your best players and I’ve no doubts in my mind the owners will want to keep those players.”
