The Word On The Tweet

Jack Needs To Tweet About Eggs

With everybody taking a break to discuss the improved victory against Bournemouth in the fourth round of the FA Cup at the weekend and the immensely positive news that midfielder and England international Fabian Delph committed himself to a four and a half year contract ahead of the game on Saturday, I feel it’s time to get back to a huge talking point of the season.

Should our players discuss recipes and give cooking advice on social media.

We all know the Jack Grealish tweet, and we all know that manager Paul Lambert wasn’t entirely happy with said tweet, moving him to say.

‘I think he should stay off tweeting. Not everyone needs to know that he’s boiling an egg. I just wasn’t happy about it.’

Yup this is stupid, so either bear with me, or move on and read something sensible.

Whilst I’m at it, the American Constitution…is it the right to bear arms, or the right to arm bears? Robin Williams always confused my understanding on that one.

Anyway, whether Lambert’s ire at this particular eggy piece of tweeting was the fact he doesn’t like boiled eggs, he prefers them scrambled or with soldiers or alongside bacon with red sauce (brown sauce is the Devil’s garnish!) or even with sausages, I doubt we’ll ever know.

But it begs the questions, what does the handbook say about dietry advice?

And I think I have an answer, and it would be hysterical if one of the players did now decide to tweet this, but I wouldn’t encourage it as I’m allowed to take the Micky (it is my name afterall) and I won’t be liable for any club fines either which helps my position immeasurably here.

If Lambert doesn’t want Jack to tweet about boiling an egg, would Jack be allowed to tweet about unboiling an egg.

This isn’t as bizarre a thought as you’d imagine, because scientists have now managed to unboil an egg and I’m curious if unboiled egg tweets would make the manager happy.

click here and please don’t ask how I stumbled across this freakish news today.

‘A major study backed by the US and Australian governments has made a revolutionary breakthrough – they have managed to unboil an ordinary egg.’

It does of course beg the question what is an ‘un-ordinary egg’ – could it be eggstra-ordinary? – but maybe that’s for future studies?

Okay I’m taking my stupid hat off now…as you were folks.
