Oh sorry, didn’t mean knives, I meant blades?!

Premiership new boys Sheffield United are being linked with a move for Aston Villa’s out of favour midfielder Lee Hendrie.

If you use the sites search function (in the column with leagues, poll etc) you’ll see a whole host of clubs linked to Hendrie over the last year as well as quotes from Lee saying all he wants to do is play football.

The Sun say that Neil Warnock is ready to bid £1.6million and the Blades would be willing to pay him £18 000 a week. Nice work if you can get it!

Is £1.6million enough? Who would we replace him with? Do we not need more bodies in the squad? With the imminent (albeit on and off) move of Matthieu Berson, the expected departure of Jumper Jumper, just how short of midfielders are we going to be? With a lack of funds to replace them, the worry is how much we can rely on the likes of Craig Gardner next season.

Vital Villa ran a poll recently : Click Here

A massive 73% said Hendrie should stay UNLESS we get a bid of £2.5million or over for him. A further 7% said Villa should keep him if we can only get £1million for him.
