Villa boss Paul Lambert has said that Villa fans have been ‘brilliant` with him since joining the Lions but also asks for patience as Villa sit in the bottom three.

He said on Sky Sports that the bottom three is not where, he, the club or the fans want to be, adding:

‘I understand it’s not where you want to be and the fans have every right to voice their opinion. But they have been brilliant with me and all I can ask for is to stick with us.

‘I also know the bigger picture and it’s not just a quick fix.”

He also points out that some of the performances this season have been ‘very good` and that we`ve just lacked that little bit of luck or a break.

Hmmm, not sure I like it when managers start to point to bad luck, but hey ho, certainly think he has the time and patience of most of the fans, certainly how it seems on the message boards and at the games right now anyway. Strange in some ways as this is the worst start in over four decades, but I think most fans know this isn`t an over night job now and that we can`t keep changing managers… we aren`t Chelsea!

‘Some of the performances have been very good. We’ve just not had that break, that little bit of luck to go your way. There have not been too many times when I’ve walked away and been disappointed with the way we’ve played.’

Interesting to note that Mark Hughes has been sacked by QPR. Lets hope they don`t get someone in who can shoot them out of the relegation zone, or at least not before we climb out. (Thread: QPR sack Mark Hughes.. GULP!
