Paul Lambert was delighted to see Karim El Ahmadi strut his stuff on our opening day of training, and he believes he’ll be a key player for us next season.

Speaking to the Official Site Lambert talked about El Ahmadi’s strengths and also said he didn’t believe he’d have any trouble settling in given his experiences in Holland:

‘I think it’s great he’s in, he’s a really good player. It’s new for him, a new culture but I’m sure he will greasp it pretty quickly. I have absolutely no worries about him. The lads need a hand and Karim will give them that.’

Lambert adds that from his time at Feyenoord he’ll be more than used to big crowds and the pressures that he’ll face in this league.

Be interesting to see how he does adapt, he could well be that defensive midfielder we’ve been crying out for, and the bonus would be of course it would free up our creative players to strut their stuff and give us some entertainment!
