Paul Lambert believes the players were phenomenal today and he doesn’t think it would’ve been unjustified if we’d come away with all three points.

Speaking to the Official Site following the draw, Lambert firstly paid tribute to a mature performance from a young back four, and used it as an example of where he believes the club will go in the future:

‘I thought we played really well, we were excellent. I thought we might have nicked it, we lost Ron Vlaar and then you look at the average age of the back four. They defended very strongly, it’s a really exciting future here I think. We are a young side but we are growing together. We are a threat.’

As for experiencing the game from the stands after the pointless and ridiculous decision by the FA to ban him for telling the truth, Lambert said he was unconcerned with not being on the touchline because he trusts his staff and players to perform:

‘I have a brilliant assistant manager, I had no problem. We talked before.’

Lambert also confirmed it was Ron’s calf that went, but he’ll be assessed in training tomorrow before a decision is made on whether he can face Reading.
