Mark Hughes has resigned as manager of Fulham FC, but also said he has not been approached by Aston Villa.

A statement on the Fulham website said.

‘Fulham can confirm that Hughes has provided notice, under the terms of his contract, to leave the club at the end of June.’

Now as well as saying he had not been contacted by Villa, Hughes also said that there were no outside influences in his decision to walk away after only 12 months.

Surely he has a job on his mind, but it might be a little more than putting 2+2 together to come up with a move to B6.

In either case, he has 4 weeks notice to serve in effect so couldn’t begin a new job until July 1st.

That wouldn’t prove much of a problem for us admittedly but you do wonder where his preferred destination is, if it’s not us?

On the other hand, maybe he just doesn’t like Michael Jackson?

Is everybody excited by this summer’s manager merry-go-round yet???
