Alex McLeish believes the squad will be boosted by the fitness of James Collins, Richard Dunne and Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the derby McLeish said all three were back in contention to start the game.

Dunne as we know has been out since February after suffering a broken collarbone, Gabby was restricted to the bench against Bolton because of a nagging shoulder issue and James Collins missed Bolton due to a groin injury.

‘We’re really hopeful James and Richard might make it this weekend. Richard has trained well and he feels good and we are thinking about starting him tomorrow. Gabby is near, he is another who is ready to start and believes he can. That is brilliant, it’s fantastic commitment and we know these guys are there for the cause.’

Seems to be a lot of talk about commitment, fight, causes and the like recently…shame we haven’t actually seen any of it in action for most of the season, because maybe then we wouldn’t be in the bloody position to begin with.

Oh well, McLeish is happier that must count for something:
