Merciless Monday From Villa With Fantastic Player Reveal – He’s Finally Ours

|

With heavy speculation on Sunday that we’d made a breakthrough in the transfer chase for Bournemouth centre-half and soon to be Aston Villa legend, Tyrone Mings, Monday saw the announcement we’d all been waiting for and the 26-year-old is now ours.

Mings himself had already been on record as stating that he hoped a permanent deal would be done and we all saw the celebrations after the Play-Off Final, including him returning to Bournemouth still in his kit.

The speculation kicked up a further gear late on in May when Mings removed Bournemouth from his social media pages, but plenty thought this one may tick on for a few more weeks – but not anymore.

Speaking to the Official Site as his signing was confirmed, head coach Dean Smith was obviously delighted with the capture.

“We’re really pleased to have Tyrone back at Aston Villa on a permanent basis. I think everybody could see the connection that he made with the club as a whole and it is excellent news that we can continue the relationship in the Premier League. He will be an integral part of the squad for the new season and I look forward to working with him and helping to further develop his game.”

Tyrone himself seemed delighted to finally be back and he was well aware of fans on social media and the #AnnounceMings meltdowns.

“Yes, of course I saw all the responses. I couldn’t get away from it. That was even if I posted about stuff that wasn’t related to football or even if it was. Even if it was another company I’m involved in or my Academy, everyone was getting inundated. It’s nice to feel wanted. It’s nice to receive such a lovely welcome from the fans. It was something I wanted all summer long and something they wanted so thankfully we’re now sitting here and I’m a permanent Aston Villa player.”

Sky Sports are reporting that the deal is worth £20million up front which could rise to £25million. I’m not seeing confirmation of length of contract yet but you’d imagine it’ll easily be four years based on our other dealings and his age.

Okay, who next?
