Mini Villa Round up

Nope, nothing do to with Dwarfs or Lord of the Rings, just a little recap.

The reserves are in action tonight, and Marlong Harewood and Shaun Maloney will be out for the stiffs.

We play away at Liverpool at 7.45 in the Barclays Premier Reserve League Play Off.

Villa go in as Southern Champions, and Liverpool were the runaway Northern Champions so it’s stands to be a decent game on all accounts.

Harewood and Maloney join Taylor, Routledge, Osbourne and Salifou in the second string – all of whom will no doubt want to be playing a part against Wet Spam.

VILLA: Taylor, Lund, Baker, Osbourne, Clark, Lowry, Salifou, Routledge, Harewood, Herd, Maloney. Subs: Delfouneso, Bevan, Albrighton, Bannan, Collins.

Speaking of Wet Spam, the match is being screened in the Holte Suite on Sunday.

Kick off is 3pm, but the venue will be open from midday till 6pm with hot snacks available until kick off.

Tickets are only £7 but there is limited availability obviously. Grab the dog and bone (see I can do Cockney) and phone Consumer Sales on 0800 612 0970 if interested.

Now for some quotes.

Martin O’Neill has dismissed Kevin Keegan’s notion that the top 4 in the Premiership are unbreakable. Keegan stated that (in a nutshell) that Man U, Chelsea, Arse and Liverpool were so far ahead of anyone else that it would be years before ‘anybody’ could mount a challenge.

Speaking on the official site, O’Neill said however:

‘I know what Kevin Keegan has said about Newcastle not being able to compete. Maybe that’s a genuine picture and I just refuse to look at it.

‘If he thinks that Newcastle can’t compete for the next few years, and they average 54,000 people and pay big salaries to players, then it must be exceptionally difficult.

‘But it should never stop you trying.’

Well I said it was a small recap!
