More Questions Than Answers For Villa Again After Watford Shambles – Match Stats

After a much needed win against Norwich City, Aston Villa fans were hoping to see the side make it back to back wins as we travelled to Vicarage Road to face Watford earlier this afternoon.

The Norwich performance wasn’t pretty but we’ve played better and lost, however, Watford was again another shambles and having lost pretty comprehensively at 3-0 – the fact they only had ten men for the final half an hour will only intensify calls for a proven striker in the January transfer market. Especially as it was only 1-0 at that point.

It’s rare to cut sides open with ten men when they sit back, but given the hosts continued to match us on possession and still had greater chances on and off target come the end of the game, it will only lead to more questions than answers.

Watford was never going to be an easy clash as their more recent form has been better than ours, but few will take any positives from that one given their margin of control.
