“Most Convenient” – Journalist Tips Villa To Complete Signing Next Week

Aston Villa have long been linked with Kosovan international and Werder Bremen winger Milot Rashica and as if by magic, that speculation has returned this week following a claim from Supersport Kosova reporter Arlind Sadiku.

Having been linked with the 24-year-old ahead of the January window where he was apparently a ‘priority target’, and then linked a second time during the Covid pause in the calendar, Sadiku took to social media this week to claim that he expected him to arrive at Villa ‘next week’.

“Milot Rashica will leave Werder Bremen by the end of next week at the latest. A few weeks ago he had reached a personal agreement with Leipzig but Werder Bremen is not happy with the offer. Monaco, Aston Villa and Wolverhampton have made official requests for Rashica services. According to my sources, Aston Villa’s offer is the most convenient for Werder and it is very likely that Rashica will be transferred to the Premier League next week.”

With 11 goals and 8 assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances last season, Rashica’s stock continues to rise in the game but despite the Leipzig link seeming unlikely, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Monaco are also name-checked as having an interest in him but if Sadiku can be believed here, he’s also stated that we are favourites and already in ‘advanced talks’ with the club and player.

During the last round of speculation, it was suggested £30million would get a deal done but I’d be surprised if we spent that much on potential talent – however, he’s a left sided attacker who can play down the middle as well, so after last season, this one might have legs.
