Manager Steve Bruce has admitted that Aston Villa are likely to be without both Jack Grealish and Albert Adomah for this weekend’s tie against Sheffield Wednesday.

Gulp…

Whilst both players remain ‘big doubts’ for the game, Bruce is however hopeful that both players could be back for next weekend’s clash with Queens Park Rangers so that’s some silver lining I guess.

Lewis Grabban needs to be assessed late on typically as he picked up a sore groin in training following his good impact on the Preston North End match and Keinan Davis is also set for a late assessment following the ankle injury he picked up the same game.

With Robert Snodgrass falling ill at the half time break int he game, he’s been far better this week so should remain in contention and Bruce expects him to be involved.

The news keeps getting better though, Axel Tuanzebe is now definitely ruled out as the Manchester United youngster has picked up a hamstring injury.

Finally a sentence that might raise a smile though.

Bruce has confirmed that Callum O’Hare’s exceptional form for the Under 23 has seen him rewarded with a call up to the squad for the weekend.

Having missed out against Ipswich Town in the Premier League Cup, many thought he would take up a position on the bench at least this weekend and that now looks set to happen.

Will he start though? At least he now hopefully gets a shot either way.
