No Need To Box Villa Up Just Yet – A Much Needed Win – Match Stats

It’s been a mixed 2019 following our promotion from the Championship into the Premier League, with both positives and negatives (some expected given our busy summer) but Aston Villa were hoping to end the year on a high and pick up some much needed points as we welcomed Norwich City to Villa Park for the Boxing Day clash.

Well it was hardly pretty and it wasn’t particular comfortable as the visitors had the better game, chances and possession but substitute Conor Hourihane made his chance count just after the hour mark in the game to make it 1-0 and, with the clean sheet kept, it was enough for us to bring an end to our run of defeats and pick up a much needed three points.

On to Watford and hopefully, back to back wins to take us back out of the dropzone.
