David O’Leary has denied that the club have put a price tag on de la Cruz and says the club can do nothing if no one approaches.

Ulises de la Cruz was reportedly wanting a face to face with O’Leary to sort out his future and ask again for a move away.

O’Leary said: ‘I’ve heard that we’ve apparently put a £200,000 price tag on Ulises. We’ve put nothing on him. His agent came here about six weeks ago and said: ‘Ulises’ contract is up at the end of the season and what is happening?’. We told his agent that we can’t stop anybody going and we would consider anything if it comes in. But the agent hasn’t called me back and no manager has called me.’

‘We’ve never put a figure on Ulises because we’ve never had to put a figure on him. But one thing we won’t do is let him out on a free. There are lots of players up and down the country who are out of contract this summer, but clubs won’t just be letting them go.’

Fair play then! The quotes from DLC or his agent were probably intended to drum up interest.
