It’s been confirmed that Charles N’Zogbia has undergone surgery after suffering an achilles tendon injury during fitness work whilst on holiday in Miami.

The 27 year old has undergone the surgery in the US and he will return to Birmingham next week to continue the rehabilitation programme he has been given.

The Club’s head of sport and excercise medicine, Roddy MacDonald, has travelled to the States to assess and help Charlie and accompany him back.

Speaking to the Official Site Paul Lambert said of the news:

‘The priority is to ensure that Charles receives the very best care and he has done and will continue to do so. It’s a blow for Charles obviously, but he’ll get his head down and get himself fit again and he’ll have plenty of support in doing so.’

It is a shame as N’Zogbia’s form towards the end of last season had been far improved on the showings we have seen since his £10million transfer from Wigan. Hopefully he’ll the ground running when fit again and prove to be an asset for Lambert next season.
