The club have announced that our official charity partner Acorns will have their ‘Acorns 25’ logo displayed on our junior shirts this season.
As everybody knows because of Premier League restrictions junior strips cannot feature the logo of Dafabet as they can’t other such companies, so in another move designed to further boost the profile of Acorns, Dafabet have demonstrated their commitment to working with the club for the cause by supporting the Acorns placement on the shirts.
Speaking to the Official Site CEO Paul Faulkner said:
‘We’re delighted to now be able to confirm that, thanks to Dafabet, the Acorns logo will be able to be used on our junior shirts this season. Everybody knows how special the club’s relationship with Acorns is and that was something we emphasised to Dafabet when we entered into negotiations with them. It’s great that they have embraced Acorns in this way and that together we are able to give additional awareness to the charity during their 25th anniversary.’
No doubt this move will please many fans as I’ve read comments that with our new sponsor not being able to be shown on the junior shirts, that replacing them with Acorns was something that many wanted.
Acorns CEO David Strudley added on the move:
‘The ongoing support shown by the club and fans for Acorns is immeasurable and clearly demonstrated by their efforts to include us in their discussions with Dafabet. We are extremely grateful to both Aston Villa and Dafabet in what is a crucial year as we celebrate 25 years of caring and look to a future where we can help to provide care and support to each of the 2000 plus life limited and life threatened children in the region.’
Fan wishing to carry the Acorns 25 logo on the youth and junior shirts can do so from June 26 and it will be applied at purchase, however please note this will not happen on a match day unfortunately.
For fans who have already purchased such shirts either online, in store or from other outlets can attend Villa Village to have the logo applied free of charge – again not on match days I believe.
