Olof Mellberg Voted The Best

Vital Villa asked who was the best Villa defender over the last 10 years, as suggested by Deanovilla.

No shocks really, the bearded wonder Olof Mellberg got 56% of the votes.

Next up was Gareth Southgate who returns with Boro as manager tomorrow, with 31%. Gareth apparently got so fed up whilst at Villa the players used to ask, Q: ‘how do you leave Villa?’ A: Through the southgate.

Steve Staunton got 5%

Ugo Ehiogu 4%

Liam Ridgewell got 3% but hopefully as part of our future, he’ll poll higher in future years as will Gary Cahill and with injury luck Martin Laursen.

Alpay got 1%, no further comment needed.
