Petrov Hopes Winning Feeling Is Back

Petrov has said that he is hoping our victory at Hull is a return to the habit of winning for us.

Earlier in the season it was almost like we couldn’t lose, regardless of how bad we actually played yet recently whilst the quality of performances have improved results have been somewhat harder to achieve.

Speaking on the official site Petrov expressed his hope that our victory against Hull would see us end the season in winning style.

‘In previous games we were playing very well but couldn’t win the game. This wasn’t that pretty but we had enough chances and in the end we’ve got the three points we probably should’ve taken a long time ago.

‘We went through a good run for about three or four months we hadn’t lost a game and all of a sudden in two and a half months we hadn’t won a game.

‘It just shows if you are not consistent and if you don’t fight enough you don’t win games in this league.

‘In this game we were fighting, we kept a clean sheet and this is a very important thing. I think this is why we won the game – our defence was very strong.’

It wasn’t a great match by any standards, but the performance was better than it’s been in many games this season and it was more of a return to our battling and grinding out ways that has seen us pick up so many points this season.

What we need now, along with more clean sheets is to totally kill teams off. If we can combine that, along with grinding out wins next season, we should be laughing all the way up the table.
