Bit of a strange link to Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing. The 32-year-old has apparently been told he is surplus to requirements by their new boss Gary Monk. Apparently Bruce enquired about our ex winger in January and might return this summer. The way he left though? Leaves a bitter taste doesn`t it? He has two years left on his contract so wouldn`t be available on a free one would suspect, unless Boro want to offload his wages. We aren`t going to build a dads army team are we?
