James Milner has spoken today of his tremendous pride at being selected for Fabio Capello’s squad for the Spain game.

Milner as we all know was set for the U-21’s but following his sterling performance against Blackburn he was quickly promoted to the full side, and rightly so.

Speaking on the official site Milly said:

‘To represent your country at any level is fantastic but to be called up to the full squad is an absolute honour and a real proud moment in my career.

‘I am thrilled and I can’t wait to link up with the other lads and work hard and try to do well in training.

‘Villa have six players in the national squad, which is a huge achievement too. Credit has to go to the manager Martin O’Neill for that.

‘It’ll be great to be part of the set-up and to have so many lads from Villa there too will make it even better.’

It’ll be a home away from home with Gabby, Barry, Ash, Heskey and Luke with him aswell.

Pretty soon England will have to play in claret and blue when you consider the other players that could have concievably been called up after performances of late.
