With Jacob Ramsey’s rise through the ranks under former gaffer Dean Smith, brother Aaron has begun gaining is own experience in recent years, but having picked up a knee injury during the enforced winter break for the World Cup, Aston Villa have now confirmed he has returned to us from Norwich City to continue his rehabilitation.

Having had a good second half of the season out with Cheltenham Town back in 2021/22, last summer we took the decision to send him out to the Championship to team up with Smith once again, and although it was a slow start for the 19-year-old, he more than found his feet and seriously began impressing their fans with his improved performances.

He returns to us having made 14 starts and six substitute appearances across all competitions, and in that time he chipped in with three goals and three assists.

With Norwich parting company with Smith whilst Ramsey was on the side lines, as I mentioned in the loan round up, there was a slight doubt on whether or not he would finish the year with them and we now have confirmation he won’t.

Whether he now goes back out before the end of the month, will depend on the severity of the knee injury and all I can find is Smith commenting “Hopefully, he should be back soon.”

That was back on December 12th, and he still has some rehab to do it seems.
