With the announcement of the fixture list for the coming 2018/19 Championship campaign, whilst it’s a nice distraction for Aston Villa fans given the last few weeks we’ve had on a financial news front and linked transfer speculation, the confirmation of our first live game of the season hasn’t gone over well with fans.
Our first game against @HullCity has been selected for @SkySports coverage and will be a 7:45pm KO on Monday 6th August.

Whilst the vast majority of clubs in the EFL has a sensible Saturday kick-off, the Sky numpties have moved our first game of the year to a Monday evening, so fans face the enjoyable task of arranging trips to Hull and the KCOM Stadium at the beginning of a work week.
We all accept games will move, it’s a necessary evil unfortunately in the money bloated and dominated game now as clubs look to eek out every penny, and we will benefit financially from this obviously, but surely some idiot could realise all opening games of the season should at least be Saturday or Sunday based.
📺 | Our @Carabao_Cup Round One tie against @AVFCOfficial has been chosen for live broadcast on @SkySports.

They only lose one game – it won’t kill them or harm their bonuses!
The reaction to this is largely unprintable to be fair, but you’ll get the general impression.
Sky ruin opening weekend. Thanks sky!
